APPLICATION FOR KENYA IDENTITY CARD

Things to note:

1. Each applicant must appear in person at the Embassy for biometrics capture.
2. Married ladies who wish to change their names, both husband and wife must be present at the time of application submission.
3. Applicants are required to bring two (2) passport size photographs recently taken on a white background.
4. Holders of first-generation identity cards (the big size) are considered first time applicants.
5. Application submission is strictly by appointment only.
6. Processing of IDs takes approximately eight -twelve weeks.
7. Any document in a language other than English MUST be translated and certified as a true translation by the issuing authority or representative Embassy.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Form Reg. 136A duly completed (Click here to download)
2. Original 1st generation ID for holders of 1st generation IDs
3. Applicant’s copy of Kenyan birth certificate
4. Three (3) passport size photographs recently taken on a white background.
5. Copy of applicant’s Kenya passport bio data page (page with the picture and information).
6. Copy of Identity card for parent(s)
7. Copy of Registration certificate (for Kenyan citizens by Registration).
8. Residence permit/Naturalisation /Registration certificate/proof of having regained Kenya citizenship and or declared Kenya citizenship

2. Police report for lost ID
3. Notarised affidavit explaining the circumstance of loss
4. Copy of the lost ID.
5. Two passport size photographs recently taken on a white background.
6. Copy of applicant’s Kenya passport bio data page
7. Original and copy of ID (for duplicate and mutilated)

Switzerland Residence Status, /Naturalisation / Registration certificate/proof of having regained Kenya citizenship and or declared Kenya citizenship

  1. Form Reg. 136A duly completed ((Click here to download))
  2. Applicant’s original and copy of the ID
  3. Three (3) passport size photographs recently taken on a white background.
  4. Copy of applicant’s Kenya passport (bio data page).
  5. Residence permit/ Naturalisation / Registration certificate/proof of having regained Kenya citizenship and or declared Kenya citizenship
  6. Copy of marriage certificate if change is because of marriage (foreign issued marriage certificates, to be notarised).
  7. A copy of Deep poll prepared and registered in Kenya accompanied by a copy of Kenya Gazette Notice effecting Name change.
  8. Documents in support of any other change
  9. Ladies changing names because of marriage to be accompanied by their husbands at the time of submission of the application.
